Wondering what some of you own for an all around plinker?
I had a couple of target pistols and would like to try something new.

A year ago i bought my first .357 mag and no longer find myself no longer shooting my modified browning challenger. Im not interested in shooting a target type pistol and would prefer a light, shorter, fun pop pop reliable
semi auto pistol. Something I could even use to practice IDPA
Also dont just want a cool one where the novelty wears off with.
Oh and should be cheap with lots of mags and parts available.

What do you guys think of as choices below.

SIG Mosquito...I really like the looks of these but are they accurate at 25M?
Ruger MKIII 22/45 4.5 inch slab side barrel ( are mag changes easy?)
Want a P22 but its just too damn small any good suggestions of like pistols?
Browning buckmark standard

Any suggestions are helpful.
Thanks

The Ruger and the Browning would be great, but the Mosquito is waaay too picky as to what it'll eat, and the P22 has a less than stellar reputation. The crappy slides that break don't inspire confidence. Use the search function for those two and you'll see what I mean.
I have a Ruger Mark 1 that I love, and my brother just bought a Mark 3 in stainless. I'm waiting to hear a report from him, but Rugers have a solid reputation, will eat just about any ammo and are very accurate.

I had a MrkII but didnt like the angle of the grip at all so i got rid of it.
What are the triggers like on the new 22/45s? It would eat what i fed it though i shoot winchester bulk exclusivly.

I would go with SIG, although I never had one. I was going to recommend P22 but grip realy is small. If you want to practice IDPA your 22 pistol should emulate the real full-sized one centerfire pistol. Accuracy - I would say anything with less than solid fixed bull barrel will be of questionable accuracy. If that is important than forget SIG or P22, go with sin-ugly Rugers or Buckmarks...yuk..brrr...
