G'day all,

I'm looking for a pistolsmith that can push the sights on a Sig 226.

I'm located in Stratford, Ontario Area. I called a local gunshop, CK Gunroom and they mentioned a place in Simcoe 'Dark Industries'. A google seach came up emply on the name. Just curious if anyone know where I could find the guy or recommend someone a little closer.

Thanks, I spoke with Rodger and I guess I'll be making the tour down to his neck of the woods tomorrow. Should be a fun little drive (2 hours).

If you have to go to a gunshop, both gobels (Dean is the smith, does good work, not like they're sales staff:mad: ), and Shooters choice are half that distance....the smith at shooters is ok too, but I forget his name:redface:

I've heard a lot of negative things about Gobles (the sales team not the Smith) so I'm just trying to do my own little boycott of the place to make up for buying my shotgun there hahaha.

Gary Howe in Shooters Choice...there is a great gunsmith in St Agatha too but he works out of his house and is in semi-retirement

Another nod to Dean at Gobles. I get nothing less than "Hi Mike, what can we do for you today" every time I shadow their door. I don't get the negative comments - visit CK Gun Room if you want a real sales run-around.

Nice to see this list grow though - you can never have too many gunsmiths to choose from!

Heck, Dean is great, its the rest of the crew there that never seem to have time for you. It's cost them a lot of money in the last few years just from me, I take my business else where, (sadly, CK is getting a bit the same way:( )

You say Dean is great. So don't associate with the rest of the crew let Dean fix yer guns and sell you a new one at the same time.

dean is excellent..... the other guys need an attitude adjustment tho.... ck sends his stuff for smithing to the guy in clinton.......

yea the guys at ck gunroom at least talk to u the guys at gobles just want your money they ####ed me around more then once i don't shop there anymore some of the guys there are alright but some of them piss u off

I found that Bill at CK seems to be pretty striaght up about things. It just seems like they can never get inventory. I've asked about order times on a few firearms and was told it would be months before they would be able to get it in. I'm very much an impulse buyer, so when I've walked over to Gobles and find what I was just told CK couldn't get, it typically makes me buy right away.

At Gobles they only seem interested in selling high end over/unders. Just figured they were probably members of the Crumlin Crowd. Not to mention their prices just seem to be so high on everything.

The Smith out near clinton, I've heard a lot of good things about him from the guys I work with, I just haven't heard if he deals with Pistols.

Jim doesn't carry any inventory of pistols in the shop. I don't know if he works on them or not. I think he is a good guy, but check the timeline on the job before leaving it.

Many of the "Goblelites" shoot out in Aylmer ;)
