Looking for High- Quality Binocs

Leica Geovids from www.Cameralandny.com

I believe they are $1600 USD, minus the $350 rebate that's been extended to the end of the year.

Even with exchange and GST at the border, you won't find a better deal. ANYWHERE. Doug is awesome to deal with and ships USPS to Canda.

A few of us grabbed the Geovids on this rebate deal .... they are the cat's a$$!

Fantastic binos and ranging out to 1200 yds

X3!! With the rebate these have to be the best deal going right now. Top notch optics on the equivalent of a clearance sale is hard to beat :D. The only downfall was I found myself glassing things at dusk that I didn't have a hope in hell of actually being able to see through my rifle scope. Tons of light gathering ability and incredibly crystal clear - these things really shine when the sun goes down.

The obvious solution is to buy a better scope.:D

:D That's the argument I'm using on myself actually. You don't realize the difference in light gathering capabilities until you compare them side by each. I thought a VX-III 4.5-14x40 was of decent quality and now the new binoculars have just ruined it for me. I think I may go to a 50mm objective and see if I can't catch up a bit in the light department.

Zeiss Conquest 3.5 x 10 x 50 with the Rapid Z reticle....... can keep up to the Geovids. I wasn't sure I would like the bigger 50mm obj/bell, but it's fine.

I use a couple of Kahles Helia 3x9x42 scopes myself, and they keep up just fine with my 10x42 Geovid HDs.I won't have a 50mm scope, because it places the scope too high for the proper cheek position on the stock for me.You don't need a huge lens if you use quality lenses and coatings.

Thanks everyone for the information. 8x 42 BRF is on its way, from Cameraland. The price is way below other quotes I received. It will be interesting comparing the light gathering quality, compared to a 4.5x14 Conquest. Coyotes, and gophers beware!

So true,
I have an older Burris 2-8 x 32 Signature series on my custom 7 x 57 and I couldn't believe how well that smaller scope looked at dusk the last time I used it. FS
