Anyone know who might have one in stock? Are these CTR's solid units? I want to change out my A2 stock on my STI AR 15. I know I need a new buffer tube and castle nut,..anything I should avoid? Not sure what carbine buffer I should get, as my STI has a mid length gas system with nordic comp.

so,...should I be running a lighter buffer like the SR15 carbine buffer?,..what would be the difference between that and a standard carbine buffer?

I can't comment on your particular buffer weight with that compensator, I have no experience with it.
The CTR however seems really solid to me, and I've put about 1500 rds down with mine, and it's still as solid as day 1.
Low round count all-in-all I know, but so far, so good.

P&D Enterprises had a few in stock on Saturday, commercial and milspec, as well as a few other models but I forget which ones exactly. I also grabbed a black CTR stock and milspec buffer tube from them.

Or I saw some ATI commercial buffers in stock at Milarm, I bought a carbine buffer spring and buffer from them.

I forcefully mortared my rifle a couple of times with the stock fully extended. I was in a rush during a BCRA snap match. The stock is fine.

So yeah, it's solid.

thats the problem...not everyone has everything in stock i need. Some have the stock, others that don't have the buffer tube,...argh. I hate to pay double shipping. I would rather order from one place only.thanks for all the advice guys!

That was the same issue I had. Got the stock and grip from one shot, mags from questar and flip up sights from brownells. Shipping X 3. Its just how bad do you want it. I know questar use to sell packages ( grip/mags/stock/sights) but not sure anymore

Other than the second latch I can't really tell the difference between my CTR and my MOE. If you can find them and want to save a couple bucks look into the MOE.
I think P&D in Edmonton had some magpul in stock last time I was there. Not sure which models or if they had com or milspec but might be worth giving them a call.
As for buffer weight, I'm not sure what you will need with your setup but you can always buy a heavier or lighter one depending how it cycles once you get it to the range.
If this is your only AR then it doesn't matter whether you go commercial or milspec as long as you match the buffer tube and the stock. I just switched my last one to milspec so they are all the same and I can swap parts if needed.

Good luck

I already ordered from you folks /\, buffer, spring, castle nut. SHould have ordered the stock from you as well, but got it from PDEnt as they had a milspec carbine buffer by DPMS, (which was $)....damn.

I ordered a Daniel Defense Mil-Spec receiver extension from Wolverine Supplies and the Magpul CTR in FDE from One Shot Tactical. It's rock solid. Only thing better IMHO would be a B5 or LMT SOPMOD in FDE but I haven't tracked one down yet.
