I recently picked up a Lee Enfield marked: No 4 MK1* 1942. It looks really clean. Wood is great and has the same number as the reciever and bolt: 21L34XX. However, it has an additional number on the bolt, stock and mag: 21272. Strangely, this same number apears lightly etched at the top of the reciever with the prefix: NZ. I'm thinking it was a good score as it barely looks fired. It is a 2 groove barrel and the last interesting feature is that while there are C broad arrows on the front and rear of the stock, there is no C broad arrow on the reciever. I should also mention that the stock is stamped with: 66, an M, and a small oval shape with a 3 in it. I'd appreciate any info. Thanks.
