I was looking for some information to clarify some question about a rifle I had as a youth. It was a CIL Anschutz model 180 with a beech stock and rifle sights. It was sold during my teens and I bought another 180 years later at an auction. The second one had a cut out (notch) of the barrel about 6 inches ahead of the receiver and was drilled and tapped on the left side of the receiver - all seemingly factory done. Unfortunately I don't have either anymore. The last one went way up north to a great guy and minister we all know. Was there a different variant of the model 180 or changes between the model years? I'd love to find one like I originally had without the barrel notch. I used to be able to shoot 22 casings off fence posts at 20 yards - those were the days. Any help or information to clarify my questions would be appreciated. Thanks, Peter.
