Looking for information on USSR 12 ga.

This is a shotgun my grandfather got off an ex. German military man, that he sold to
My best friend for $50. We are curious about DOM and any information about this shotgun.
There are no markings on the barrel atall and one side of the receiver reads made in USSR, the other has two unknown symbols then -18m. Along with two woodcocks engraved.

Did a quick google search and couldn't find much if anything about it. Serial # on the bottom of the barrel is 8826063

Its a Baikal, pre 1991. I had the same one in 20ga.

Baikal. My 1st shotgun! I still have a lump in my finger 20 some years later from where the barrel release hit me every time I fired it.

Dad has the exact same shotgun, and I have a friend with the same thing in 410.
It's a terrific pheasant gun, because its light and and you can bring it up and fire quicker than you can say "Oh SH!T" as the pheasant flies in your face 5 feet away from you.

Be prepared for a sore shoulder though, it's too light to absorb any recoil.
