Looking for K31, where are they?

If you want one in .308, the Shooting Center has some for $1250.00! I don't know how they justified that price but then again maybe the rifles are mint, unissued with all sorts of accessories. Wow!

Hämmerli made K31s for the civilian shooters market in Switzerland. (7.62x51 mostly for Palma shooters)
Used to cost around $700.00 in the 1970s.

With the exchange rate difference from then to now, it's equivalent to over $2000.00.
Rare birds too.

Yes. It seemed a bit high to me too! I was expecting to have to pay more because of the ammo availability and maybe $500-$700 compared to $275-$350, but that went above and beyond and I can't do it. :(

I'd like to see these rifles and the history behind them. Maybe they are worth the money. Mind you if they are just rebarreled run of the mill K31s, then someone along the line from Switzerland to the retailer here must be making a hefty buck.

I will pass on the pricey rifle too. I'm more of a $200 to $350 gun buyer. For what I will use it for not worth the big bucks. I just wanted to get one to compare it to my ross and steyr. Shoot a few beer cans and that's about it. Not looking for a safe queen.

The regular K31's in 7.62X55 Swiss are right in that price range and are AMAZING rifles! The surplus ammo that is available for them now is non-corrosive and basically match grade for less than $1 a round. Definately pick up one of those! You can get soft point hunting ammo for them as well and would make an excellent Deer rifle as the power is right around .308 Win. anyway.

Do a quick google search on conversions. These use Swiss made barrels.

SFRC is sold out and tradex has some with cracks and rust. The shooting center wants to much for their k31. Anybody else selling them or anybody know who is getting them in?

Try P&S here. Remove the space between the ht and tp and you are good to go. They are $325 to $350 in price. They are great to deal with as well.
