Hello everyone, I've been lurking online and found a fun looking project that I would like to attempt to build.

I've been searching online for the past few days trying to locate a site or someone that has used/worn out parts (corroded barrel, OP Rod, Gas Cylinder, etc) or even newer production parts if it comes down to it (I'd prefer no original USGI parts considering I don't want to ruin those parts for other gun builders).

Also I'm looking for a full stock set with hardware, I found some sites located in the states that have what im looking for, but have not seen anywhere on their sites saying that they ship to Canada.

If anyone is able to help me out at all or might even have some parts laying around you would want to part with please feel free to message me!

Thank you again
Shawn

(What I'm looking for)
De milled/stripped receiver
Complete rear sight assembly
Junk Garand barrel
Front sight and lock screw
Gas cylinder with stacking swivel, Lock, and Screw
OP Rod
Stock set with both handguards with all required hardware
Buttplate with screws
Trigger housing

((Sorry if this is in the wrong location))

It's not easy being an M1 nut in Canada....

Mmmmm... I was just looking last night; AMAZON has much of the kit you'd need to build some (Frankenstein?) version of an M1. IDK what your game is, but those parts are only days away if you can stand having NEW-MADE parts from Overseas.

If you were one of those Americans, there are oodles of M1 goodies available at places like Brownells, or Midway, et al, but I guess you're not one of those.
Sometimes I get lucky, but usually I get the
"MAY NOT SELL TO CANADA" message.

It is possible to buy authentic M1s on EE, but I don't imagine you could be thinking of turning one of those sacred relics into a Bubba.
Alternatively, you might get lucky and chance upon an old beater of a 'parts gun' c/w a few parts you could use.

Numrich/Gun Parts Corp is a licensed exporter and will sell up to $500USD to Cdns per shipment. Things like barrels, bolts and receivers are verboten unless you have an importer's license on this side, but everything else is OK. GPC isn't cheap, but their stuff is always good quality. I haven't used SARCO for several years, but they have done export sales post 9-11.

Thank you everyone for your feedback and sources, I did check on sarco inc before but was not able to find out for sure if they shipped to Canada. There were some parts on there that were of interest but I abandoned it due to unknown Canadian shipping.

The reason I'm trying to find new or unusable parts is because I dont want to use original parts that can be used on a proper restoration.

I came across an article on a firearms site that explained (in rough detail, to me anyways) how to turn a ruger 10/22 into an M1 Garand look alike and I instantly became hooked on wanting to build one.

On a side note I would like someone's input on the laws and rules regarding building your own...stock I guess you can call it? Like technically the appearance of the firearm is different from the outside, but on the inside it's still a Ruger 10/22 barrel, trigger group and receiver etc. Can anyone provide me links/sources regarding this subject?

Thank you again
