Hello!

I am sort of new to Alberta, having come from Ontario. I am looking for gun stores and smiths that deal in Milsurps and reloading (Such as Shooters Choice in Sudbury, ON or EllwoodEpps, Orillia, ON). If some fellow Albertans can mention a few they know of, that would be great. I live around Olds, AB so the closer the better :)

Are there any personal recommendations for stores or smiths?

Thanks!

Being in Olds, you're between The Shooting Edge in Calgary and Milarm in Edmonton.

I haven't had much dealings with TSE for a while but they sold me my minty k31 a couple years ago - nice people. They also deal with some pretty high end toys and can get you pointed in the right direction if you need something fixed.

Milarm is where I get all my SKS stuff and where I bought the bulk of my Yugo 8mm hoard.

Welcome to Alberta.

An option in Calgary is ProLine Shooters on 9 Avenue in Inglewood. They always seem to have one or two milsurps hanging about. Last time I was in there they had an 1895 Chileno Mauser (7x57) on hand.

Welcome to the great West my friend! I'm a member up at Olds so we should head out milsurp shooting over Christmas!

As for milsurp stores, you're SOL my friend. I catch the odd one at TSE and Pro Line but that is about it. MilArm has them once and a while according to their website but that is about it. The best milsurp store around though is getting to know the farmers who always have a few lying around they are willing to part with. That's how I have got most of mine.

Welcome to Alberta. I've had really good luck with the gunsmith at TSE in Calgary. There is another "gunsmith" that works out of a room in a trailer in a trailer park in Calgary. STAY AWAY FROM HIM!!!!!

In Edmonton, Milarm usually has about 15 to 20 milsurp rifles or handguns kicking around. Lots of Mausers, Enfields and a few unusual ones. Lock & Load also usually has quite a few. Both are good to check out when you're up in town. I don't think P&D carries much in the way of milsurp at all.
