looking for my first semi auto rifle at good price

Hi all I'm looking to get a rifle for some competition style shooting (3gun) ...
I've bin looking at Hi Point 9mm I don't know if it you can use it? Some advice would be appreciated .

Three gun is pistol, shotgun, rifle - do the rules say anything about having to be a semi? You could do like the Cowboy Action buckeroos and get a Brazilian .38 Spl/357 Mag lever action. Load in the morning and shoot all day long, without the hassle of mag changes every second target.

any suggestions

Sub-2000. But they can be hard to find in Canada as Kel-tec only exports to Canada every year / bi-yearly. More money than the Hi Point, but you need 2x as many mags for the Hi Point and more mag pouches to run them with 2x as many reloads over a course of fire. But it also depends how they feel in your hands. You can 100% use a hi-point, just don't expect to be leading the scores.

This does seem like a good idea on paper, but some COF's want you to clear the firearm before doing a barrel or table dump so using a lever gun would eat up a pile of time on the clock.
