Looking for my first shotgun for waterfowl hunting

Out of the hundreds of posts I've seen on this topic, this is one of the only ones I've seen claiming the Maverick is prone to breaking.
I have seen many posts praising the Maverick, and the sheer volume of endorsments should not be discounted. It has value. However, I suspect that a lot of these endorsments are coming from newer gun owners. Very enthusiastic, but maybe lacking the experience to give it a fair review. Those funny "85 round reviews" that pollute other forums come to mind.

I will finish by fully disclosing that I have no qualifications and going purely from my anecdotal experience.

Cheers.

A used ithaca 37 pump is likely the best way to spend 350-400 bucks. If you find one with a modified choke perfect. If you find a full have it reamed to ic or mod
Going semi auto id up the budget another 100 to 200 and find a good condition beretta a303. An older proven gun. The only issue is the barrels dictate the chamber length. A 3" chamber will run steel waterfowl loads no problem but will struggle with light 2.75" loads
Finda 2.75" barreled a303 and just use any 2.75" shell. Theyre cheaper and work just as well with less recoil

That is certainly possible. All I can say for certain is the 4 owned by my friend group have all seen a lot more than 85 rounds and haven't suffered any broken parts. They've been nothing but reliable workhorses for us.
