I ordered one for my Husqvarna last year. It was very very rough. The wood was very dry, the fore stock warped so my smith had to put it in the steam press for 6 days if I remember right. There was a lot of work to get the action and barrel in. I ordered a grade A fancy American Black Walnut, there are several small knots which I wasn't expecting for a grade A fancy.

Due to my own experience I will buy from Boyds next time. If I decide on another hardwood I am going to check with my smiths friend who makes stocks in SK to see what his price is.

Good luck!

Never used a richards microfit (I think most of their stocks look like a 1970's phsycadelic flashback.) but Boyd's make a good affordable stock!
