As the saying goes "Not every gunsmith is a M305 gunsmith"

I'm in the Fredericton/Oromocto area. I have recently purchased a M305 and was just wondering if there is anybody on the forum who knows or is a SME on this weapon platform in this area. Cheers.

do you need work done or just looking for info/pointers/tips etc. If the latter go to Barneys, tacticalteacher/hungry, site and check out the videos from his m14 clinics he's held, a wealth of info for free.

Thanks for some of the responses guys. RSK I enjoyed Tony Ben3 vids, very informative, that's how I learned to dissemble and lube my M305 before i received it lol! , LeftFootOfDoom I'm looking for someone around Freddy Beach and surrounding area who knows all of the ins and outs of this rifle and who has worked on them incase during my mod process I run into some problems. Great Main Battle Rifle Forum on here, I must have scanned all 157 pages. Seems they hay day for parts was about 10 years ago. Cannot find a USGI bolt anywhere... well... in Canada that is... but I Found a fiberglass stock from a store in Sherbrooke Que.

Shoot it as is. To use the gi stock go to a machine shop and change the spring guide pin to a long one to work in the stock
you could also get a usgi spring guide pin and copy length with the Norinco pin diameter. That is what I do with mine. Saves the time
of wrecking the stock with glued in popsicle sticks.

Just curious, why are you replacing the bolt?

Hey Pop, Not looking to change it just yet, but just incase the bolt ends up having a critical failure in the future it would be nice to know that a Canadian distributor carries this item.

I purchased the Op spring guide pin from M14.ca and replaced the original one. I will be working on the fiber glass stock this week, filling in the auto fire selector hole and around the fore end where the cocking handle sits. Ive seen the posts where they use a popsicle stick, Can14 Do you have any pics with out using the stick solution?

I did the M14 clinic that Barney held here in NB awhile ago and got mine tuned up. Also took the opportunity while I had it apart to find out how to disassemble/reassemble the Troy MCS and found that it was originally not put together 100% correctly.

I'm no expert, but have had experience trouble shooting a couple minor issues with mine and replacing the spring guide pin. I doubt I'd be much help but if it's something minor it can't hurt to ask.

Hey jjr, thanks for the reply, how do you like the Troy set-up? Did you have the headspace checked out here in Fredericton?

I had the head space checked at the clinic, and it was a couple years ago but I remember it being okay.

I like the Troy setup, but honestly it's heavy as f**k, but then again I find the M305 to be heavy in general anyways. I'm a small dude though, so your mileage may vary.

I will be in the Boiestown-Doaktown area in mid Aug on a Holiday visiting the inlaws an if ya can travel I can help ya out.
I can bring some of the smaller specialty tools with me but not all the heavy tools.
If this is something that mite interest ya just pm me Id be happy to help....

Sorry fellas, the Fred'town clinic was a couple of years back in 2012 and we had a whale of a time.

Buckaroo knows his shzt on the M14 platform and I'm glad he can give you a hand or two. I'm glad he's leaving the security of Alberta and dropping in on your turf to visit. Flights are so cost prohibitive that they cannot enhance my clinic delivery like things were for the 2004 Abbotsford clinic or 2006 Calgary clinic when I could fly there and keep the clinic costs affordable.

Cheers and keep helping them noobs.

Barney

Hey Fugazi,
I'm in the Fred area and although I'm not an SME I too am tinkering with a M305 and a USGI fibreglass stock. I have been around firearms all my life and have a few contacts in the area WRT parts and accessories. Drop me a line if you want to bounce any ideas around.
