Looking for purely your opinions. Im looking into trading my SR9 for a sig 226, XDM, or a glock. I have had the chance to shoot an XDM, but only hold a 226, and a glock. I liked the feel of the XDM and 226, the glock to me I found to be quite large. Just wondering if this where your decision what you would aim for and why? Even better if you have had the chance to shoot one and had a preference towards it for some reason.

In other words i'm just extremely bored! And curious to others preferences:D

The SR-9 infact is no different with a Glock or XDM interm of performance because I had one before. The traditonal Ruger workmanship may not as great as Glock or XDM. If you are seeking something entirely different, go for the sig 226. Mind you gun too easy to shoot will get bored very soon, Sig made no different or you may go with 1911.

Williams, where in BC are you located? Unless you're a crazy distance away it would be worth your while to go into DVC in Port Coquitlam and shoot all those options to see which you like the best. DVC is the commercial rental range and they've got somewhere around 20 various 9mm handguns.

I live in Kamloops, so not to far away. I would love to do that and would definitely help me make up my mind. If I could just find the time to make a trip down there :(. I'll keep that in mind should the day ever come before

and yes Trigun I mainly just looking to swap out and try something different as the SR9 has been my only handgun. Just curious as to others opinions what they would go with.

I own a glock 22 and a lone wolf 9mm barell for it. I like the glock a lot, its not much to look at but it does exactly what I want it to do every time I shoot it. The XD is a great gun, I don't own one, but have shot one on several occasions and I like it more than my glock, feels great in hand. I'm sad to say that I've never shot a sig. My advice is try them both and then make your decision.

Have you looked at a S&W M&P9?

I have it wasen't really for my liking, just that I want something a little different and it reminds me a lot of my SR9.

Im hoping to get the chance to get out and shoot one or more of these guns. i'm leaning more towards the glock or the xd! Probably just come down to what the best deal I come across is.

Well DVC doesn't have a rental XD-m but they do have alot of other stuff. I have an XD-m and an SR9. The XD-m takes a little getting used to and there are some things you can do to make it better (weight in the guide pin, rubber grip sleeve) and try out each of the grips for 100 rounds or so to see which you like. If you have smaller hands you may find it too big but they are great, I wont be parting with mine anytime soon. The Sig is nice too, crisp and clean and durable as hell

DVC has an XD in .40 as I recall. It's not a 9 but it would allow you to feel what the trigger is like and what the gun is like for general handling.

Find a few excuses or get a couple of buddies to make an overnighter out of it or something. Nothing beats actually trying before you buy. Get a really early start and make a day of it shopping at some of the local gun stores and then go to the range later in the afternoon. With a buddy or two to make it into a full on road trip the cost of gas would not be so bad.

Just don't do this on a Friday. Friday evenings are Lady's Night and it's a zoo. ANY other time than Friday nights is not bad.

Yeah try to go and shoot them all. For my part, I actually like glocks a lot. I have a 17 and a 34. I wouldn't mind getting the 10mm glock too. :)

I would say get them all! You never have too many handguns. Each of the handguns you are looking at are great guns, each have their particular characteristics and all are much fun to shoot. Why limit yourself to just one ? Be polygamous and fondled as many as you wish :) Life is Good

I'll be at DVC first thing in the morning, i'll see if the have the XD. If not, PM me when you're coming down and I'll bring my XD-m 9 down for ya to try out

Cool I would appreciate that! The only times I may be coming down that way is late february or late March, but even then there are no guarantees I would have time to stop by there. I'll give you a PM though if I ever do and we could do some shooting if arrangements worked out.

My pleasure. Just got home from DVC, yes they do have an XD-40, it looks quite a bit different from the Xd-m in person. Its an open offer mate, I'm a member there so any time of day I can get in pretty quick and can always bring a guest, so if you're in town I can make the time
