Hey all! Just as the title suggests, I am currently thinking about updating my CZ455 Canadian to a newer 457 model. It would have to replace all my hunting needs that the 455 accomplishs. But I am thinking of trying Rimfire PRS in the production class. Any opinions

Edit - Further inquirery, Im looking for a rifle that fits the Production rifle requirements, so the bull barrel models are out of the question. Does anyone have any thoughs of the Canadian edition model vs the synthetic model. The action and barrel are teh same. But which stock allows for better accuracy.

I am more than satisfied with my 457. I took the synthetic one as it was the cheapest. I have a Athlon BTR FFP on it, with a 25MOA rail from CZ.
I make 3/4 MOA groups with Lapua CENTER-X, with SD's around 9-10.
It liked also the red SK's.
Can't go wrong with that rifle!

I like the 457 series very much... a few things I like in theory or noticed vs 452/455's:
more durable finish (at least what they advertise) over the blued 452/455 models
the different bolt design allows scopes to be mounted farther rearwards (I like/need this for offhand shooting with some optics), and also better bolt handle clearance from the scope eyepiece (although this never bothered me in the older guns).
my particular 457 ejects empty cases very consistently... better than the 452's I've had which were better than the Anschutz I've had
bolt release lever is a welcome addition

haven't formed an opinion yet on accuracy or the trigger
I also find the 457's are easy to use for dry fire... I just stick a piece of foam cut from an earplug into the firing pin channel at the front of the bolt and it nicely dampens the firing pin strike. Overall I think the 457 is a great tool and better than the 455/452 series in many ways... but I still like the 452's better.

I have ended up keeping all of the 45X models I’ve purchased. My 455 Cnd is a sweet shooter and my 457 Cnd is even better because of the trigger and 60 degree bolt. I could honestly just have my 457 Premium and 457 Provarmint and have all of my needs/wants covered. But I’m in the more CZ’s the better camp.

I have an older Brno # 2, put a YoDave trigger kit in it, and while it was a fine shooter to start with, it is now amazing. It is the envy of all who shoot it. 455s are excellent (I have owned two), the new 457 have nice features, but not the sleek lines of the beautifully contoured barrel of the old Brno.
