 Looking at starting to reload ( lee loader ) for my .357 Mag and I can't seem to find powder anywhere! I have the rest of the components but no pistol powder----anyone know of a place online that has some, or PM me if you want.
Thanks,
Rob.

I have a few hundred 158 gr SWC's on hand to start with, I read a few good things about Accurate No. 9 in the mid size magnums, and if I had a choice would go with this powder for now.

You might want to be a bit more specific, as 'pistol powders' can range from Bullseye to 296. You need to decide what kind of performance you are looking for, and then decide on which powders might do it for you.

Yes, you have to be more specific.
And what's this about flames and shockwaves?
Are you interested in shooting, or some spectacular event?

actually, since he's using a lee loader, the powder choices are dicated to him by his choice of bullet weight- that's the way the scoop system works- all loads will be light to mid range charges, with varying bullet weights

t-star is correct, although I do use a scale as well. I am not a large volume shooter ( I buy Wolf re-loads in .38 for that ) and the old tap tap tap method helps the night shifts go by quicker. I have manuals and want to keep working up from starting loads untill I find a load that my model 28-2 really likes. I will be trying other bullet weights later on and AA-9 seems pretty easy to work with ( from what I;ve read ) So now I have to find the powder----I was at WSS in Winnipeg the day after I went to the Eagles concert ( second row centre stage :D ) and they had diddley squat!----I have a lead in Thunder Bay I will try. Thanks to all for the input---I have only loaded for rifle before and am looking forward to the .357!

If you want 296 powder for magnum loads, I have a full can I have no use for and I'm in Winnipeg. $20.00

Most of my reloading for handgun I use 231. Very economical and accurate.

Try Win. 231 or Bullseye for lighter loads with 158 gr. lead semi-wadcutters. Win. 296 is better for full magnum loads with jacketed bullets apparently. I have used 4.5 gr. bulleseye with .357 cases and 158 gr lead semi-wadcutters with good results.
