Hi wanting to get some opinions on what to look for looking for a reasonably priced .22lr with removable mag for doing varmint hunting and plinking. Already had a ruger 10/22 and just not really my thing more trying to find a nice accurate one with removable mag than anything else

"reasonably priced .22lr with removable mag . . .trying to find a nice accurate one with removable mag"

Please Define "reasonably priced" and "nice accurate".

Once that is answered, what do you plan to use for ammo and where is your boundary on reasonably priced accurate ammo?

Setting parameters will give you reasonable answers that don't break the bank plus meets your expectations for ammunition without your post running to five pages before you and other subscribers lose interest.

Perhaps testing a variety of ammunition in your 10/22, a trigger job and a reasonable rimfire scope might solve your problem.

Reasonably accurate as in 1/2" or so at 50yds and price wise depending what's out there $500-750ish is along the lines of what I'm thinking. Ammo wise obviously not expecting miracles from bulk ammo but not opposed to spending $10 for a 50rd box either

A used 64 action Anschütz loaded with SK Standard Plus at $6.80/box is your best bet.

Savage B22 or Mark 2, heavy barrel.

My daughter prints 1" groups at 100 m from her bone stock 10/22. I can't get even close to that.

Don't worry. No one else can with a stock 10/22.

That's the ticket. If the OP is serious about 1/2" at 50 yards, he'll need something with a good barrel.

My ISSC MK22 fits that bill. And the gsg-15 is for all intents & purposes the same rifle. Shotgun shells & grouse heads at 50 yards is not a problem for the mk22 if you have the skill to do it.

A CZ 452 Varmint would be my pick.

^it IS exactly what I use. The 452 American would be my second choice if there was mostly offhand shooting to contend with. They are worth it @ around $600-$675 if you can find them (discontinued, but out there)...but I've heard Savage has upped their game with the B series rifles. If it was between a Savage Mark II and a CZ452...I'd save a little longer and get the CZ. Like most people who've had at least 2-3 of both...it's what I'd do...probably what most people would do.

A Ruger American (around $425) might fit the bill for you. They're out there, and feed from Ruger's great 10rd. rotary make. Still~I look at the $425 and think "that's only $200-ish away from a CZ" :)
