I haven’t had an air gun since I was a kid and I thought it would be fun to get something to plink with in the back yard. I like the idea of something semi auto with some reasonable accuracy. My LGS has some sig mxp’s in stock but I’m worried the larger CO2 canisters could get a little pricey over time. I also like the replica blowback pistols. But having been out of the air gun scene I feel like I’m just overwhelmed with options. Can anyone recommend something fun with reasonable accuracy that won’t totally break the bank?

Head to the local CT and pick up a Crossman Vigilante. Fits the cost and accuracy bill.

I can recommend Beeman P-17. It costs about $65, it's quite accurate and easy to maintain and repair. No CO2 is required, no springs, it's pretty much runs forever as long as you change 3 seals once in a few years.

Replica blowbacks CO2 guns have less accuracy by design but there are a lot good replicas, I guess your choice depends on what gun you like more : )

Another vote for an inexpensive P-17.
Hard to beat the price for the accuracy.

Not a semi, blowback or CO.
One pump-one pellet pistol.

If you like guns then this one is a no brainer, as it is a great deal and accurate. The Crossman Vigilante is another fun one to get along with their triple threat.

The Crosman 'Classic' Muliti-pump-style is avail at Princess for around $100 and comes in .177 and .22. Up to 10 pumps goes about 450fps and addtl pumps goes higher with the chance of f-ng the gun. In the states they've been pushed up to around 600fps pretty easily if you're handy, but that's not advised here. My .22 is accurate (2" @ 25 yds) with just irons, and the pistol can be built up to accept dovetail scopes etc.
