Looking for Ruger Mini 14 "factory stainless" magazine info.

Hello all. I am looking for someone that can tell me about Ruger factory Mini 14 mags in stainless or nickel finish. I understand that Ruger made some silver color 5/20 or 5/30 mags a number of years ago. Are they nickel plated or are they stainless? Any idea what years these would have been made? Were they only 5/20, 5/30's or both? And lastly, have you ever seen any in Canada? Any light you can shed on this is appreciated!

I don't think those were ruger mags. The only silver mags I have ever seen for the mini were aftermarket. I could be wrong.

I bought a 5/10 Promag nickel plated mag 2-3 years ago (that defunct USA pinned magazines website). I don't have a Mini-14 anymore, but I'm holding to that mag in case I buy another one as they are impossible to find.

They definitely made them, in stainless, perhaps in the 70s? If you ever find one you've won the lottery...

I've sniffed around on a few other forums, and a number of people have told me that Ruger did indeed make some standard capacity mags (20 or 30 rnd) in a silver finish at some distant point in the past for law enforcement. What I have not be able to find out, is the finish (stainless or nickel plated, I am thinking probably the latter) and exactly what capacity they were. (20's, 30's or both)
