I'm looking around for an autoloader 22 similar to the ar style platform that does not require a restricted. What's the best bang for the buck??
Thanks in advance

I've read that the GSG-16 is OK, but I haven't used one so I don't know. It is about $200 less than the Annie . . . but may not be as durable ? The folding stock looks neat and convenient ! There are a couple others that are even less attractive, except for price ;-)
and the CZ is not AR-style.

Mossberg 715 and Ruger SR22 are probably the closest to "AR platform" 22s out there, non-restricted. The 715 is a pretty close match, though lots of plastic. I've owned a 10/22 (parent/guts of an SR22) and it functioned fine..just not an accurate gun. I don't have any first-hand experience shooting a 715, but I've handled them. Feel more toy-like than my son's AR-style airsoft gun...which you'd have to look pretty close to tell it's not real.

Keeping black/tactical-the Remington 507 VTR is another, the Kel-Tec SU-22 (which I've wanted to try for a long time). That's about all I can thing of..outside of actual AR-platform guns that are restricted, like the M&P 15-22.

The Remington vtr is good, I did a carry handle and front sight build on that platform, they are very well made, solid, but heavy. The SU22 by Kel Tec is an excellent rifle, very light, large mags avail, but change the rear stock to an A2, the Ranger stock just dosent shoulder well. GSG 16 and 15 are both good choices, with the 16 having a large drum mag avail.
