Hi,
Had the rifle out at the range after installing the badger ordnance OP-rod spring guide, wolf spring, NEA tactical mag release and sadlak extended bolt release.
Had some problems with a 20or30 round norinco mag that was latching in but would unlatch after every round fired, had not used this mag before, so this might be an existing issue with the mag.

Also had some KCI 10 round mags that would not latch in until the block on the mag was filed down. They would then latch in a stay put but would not feed the last round in the mag reliable... in short i think the lips on the mag are not the right profile, in short the last round seemed to be semi ejected from the mag with the cycle of the previous round. The mags themselves seemed to have been pinned to 4.5 rounds.

Any thoughts would be welcome.
cheers

As for me, I don't know what to say..

Keep this thread posted as to new developments as you experiment to see what's going on?

Seems like you're seeing things clearly enough for now... my 2 cents

Good Day

I am no expert on these thing's but did the rifle function without dropping the magazine before installing the new op-rod and mag release ?
Just my curiosity kicking in.

Take Care

The 10 round mags all latch in and stay put, there feeding issues are more to do with their lip profile. I have some Norinco 5 round mags that I will test this coming weekend.
The Badger Ordnance guide is designed for American M1As and M14s. Wondering if it has a problem in use with a Chinese receiver and mags.

I had all sorts of mag latching problems that turned out to be a faulty mag release roll pin. Ended up the pin had split length wise and only one half was still in the gun. Check and/or replace the pin before making any mag mods.

Thanks gnmontey. I'll take a look at the pin.
the feed issue is a definite problem with the right lip on the mags. I re-profiled the lip to be more rounded and the feed problem stoped.
So hopefully there is a problem with the pin and all my troubles are over. Nothing ruins a rifle more then feed issues.
