Here is a video of a Titanium/alloy of some kind armor plate that takes multiple hits from different rifles and is unaffected. I have no idea what kind you have as you haven't given us much details but googled this because of the people debating titanium.

Learn something new everyday. Thats interesting about the dangers of the dust off a shot plate of titanium and why they dont use it anymore in vests. Like i said i have no experience shooting it only know its an amazing material in sports equipment and takes a beating there. Really without metallurgy testing your not going to know forsure what it is. There is a massive amount of different alloys which have been engineered to have all different kinds of properties. My favorite thing to shoot is 1/2" ar500 plate but its definitely not light. Hopefully one of these other guys can guess exactly what you have for a piece of metal.
I can't find that product on their website... I dont think they make it anymore.
Also it says its titanium steel, which likely means it is a titanium steel alloy - which means it would only have a small amount of Ti. Ti gives a higher melting point and increased corrosion resistance in addition to strength properties in an alloy. Ti alloys are commonly used in aircraft engines.
On a side note ~95% of titanium used worldwide is in the form of white titanium dioxide pigment - a major additive to paints plastics and paper to make them nice and white.
