The fine people at Glock continue to improve their pistols and add new stuff/models.

The new Glock Generation 5 boasts the all new "Marksman" barrel. Claims to improve accuracy. I've seen a G17 gen 5 post a 475, 27X out of 480 points on the PPC 25 yard service course. Impressive.

So what's the lowdown on the new barrel configuration? Is the new barrel lands & grooves, or just additional polygonal features?
 
 
Well, I have read EE ads where owners of the Gen 5 are selling them because they prefer the Gen 3's, and do not care for the soap bar feel of the *new* grips sans finger grooves....some how reading that did not surprise me...
 
I actuall ylike the "no finger grooves" feature. That said, can't comment on improved accuracy, as much of that has to do with the shooter themselves.
 
Yes, the G5 Barrels shoot very well, there was some changes to the rifling, but for the G5 they also changed geometry in the locking block, allegedly to be more like the G19, vs. the G17 of old (G1-G4)
