I tried to search beforehand. Closest I could find was an SPF by one of the CGN'ers here that sells a lot of Milsurp. The closest price I could find was a sporterized one for $150.00.

I have a chance to buy one tomorrow in full wood. I'll know tomorrow what arsenal it came from. According to what I have read the Winchester arsenal production was the rarest with Remington coming in close second. I found one on Gun Broker for $900.00 US$. Seems a little high, but that's all I have to go on so far.

Any input would be appreciated. I am buying it to compliment my 30.06 Garands and to round out my rifle calibers I want to reload. (.223, .308, 30.06, .303)

Thanks!

Hmm, good question... haven't seen many up for grabs. Would it be just a bit higher than a typical .303 P14, selling for around $350, so something around $400? Or would it be a lot more since there are fewer here, North of the border?

I agree with the price idea but would want to make sure that all parts are there, original and in decent condition. Otherwise you will end up restoring it and spend a lot more.

I would be prepared to pay up to $750 for a mint M17. I would expect to pay more for a P14 in mint condition.

You simply do not come across them any more.

I dissagree with the comment that a M17 has more value than a P14 regardless of arsenal.

x2 Richard. Condition is paramount in these deals. If you want the best, be prepared to pay for it.
I bought a P-14 that had been completely refinished. I paid handsomely for it as well. It had been done up as a presentation piece and was spectacular in appearance.
Another thing to consider, many of the P series rifles have poor bores, check closely. Many ar DP marked as well. DP = drill purpose. That doesn't mean there's anything wrong with the rifle though.
Also, check out the stock, many P-14 rifles are wearing P-17 furniture.

Thanks for all the help guys. Upon discussing the rifle further with the seller, the stock had been sporterized. Last sporterized one I saw here went for $150.00. He was asking $210.00.

Appreciate all the help.
