Hey folks,
I was looking to get the value for my 1967 Winchester 1894 Canadian Centennial lever rifle with octagon barrel
It has no box and less then 70 rounds through it. It shows a peep sight on it, but I have the original rear ramp.
Sorry the pictures aren't that great
All help is greatly appreciated.
Thanks for your time

It's nice to see a winchester "centennial" that's not all glittered with fools gold.... :)

Looks like a cool post 64 model, how long is the barrel?

It is a used rifle. It was made with all the post '64 features. It doesn't really have anything special going for it.
Decent used .30-30s have been going up in price. It should bring north of $500, but how far north, who can say?

Some people like longer tubes and the Octagon profile, that's a fairly obvious difference to a typical post 64 1894.... how special that is depends on the person.
It's got maple leaf engravings and no goldy locks frosting too..... bonus..... :)

Sometimes I wonder if there has ever been a Winchester Commemorative rifle that's actually been a good financial investment?

There have been some "rode hard put away wet" post 64 1894's listed for around $600 lately who knows what they are selling for?
It's easier to drop the price then raise it.

Good luck OP

These days there is a large group of people that "pre-64" means nothing to. They just want a 94 and don't distiguish between the old ones and the shaky quality and manufacture of the newer models. Those made 1964 to 1968 were the absolute worst. Quality improved up throught he 70's and during the 1980's the 94 was half decent. It took Wninchester 100 years to build a reputation and three or four to destroy it. Thats what happens when gun people are no longer calling the shots and beancounters run things. My 2 cents.

More than $500.00 and less than $ 1100.00....
Rob

No ,more than $500 unless you've found an absolute sucker who still thinks that Commemorative Winchesters are something special. All they are, at the end of the day, are Post 64 Winchester 94s with varying levels of gaudy tarted-up-ness. This one is a gaudy, tarted-up Post 64 that has been shot. It's only value is as a shooter. Any anyone who pays over $500 for a Post 64 M94 is probably very happy with John Horgan's decision to decriminalize possession of hard drugs.

As someone who has been looking for an affordable shooter grade 94 for a while I can tell you $500 doesn't get you much - it will MAYBE get you something that was rode hard, put away wet, and is missing pieces. We're talking rust on the exterior, considerable bluing loss, no rear sight elevator, wood that has a least a few dings if not cracks... I've been seeing that sort of thing is going up on the EE for $600-700. Obviously that doesn't mean they're selling for that but I haven't seen a 94 listed at $500 in a long while.

It's madness that they're even being offered for prices like that.

Yeah, I remember only a few years ago you'd see plenty of 94s and Marlin 336s in the $500-600 and in relatively decent condition. $400 for a beater. Now beaters are being listed at $600-700. Yeah, gun prices have gun up, but used prices haven't gone up as much as new prices have in the last few years and even new guns haven't gone up by 75% in like 3 years...

If I was to guess I would say not a lot of people are buying new 30-30s (especially with the hiatus in Marlin production while Remington went bankrupt, the Winchesters are not cheap guns bought new these days!) and that is driving up the prices on used ones... but thats just speculation...

I paid around 650-700$ for a good condition regular 70s 94. Im happy with it for that price in this crazy market.
Also have a beat up 70s 94 truck gun that's a great shooter. Id sell the nice one first
