Looking for tips on how to get better at shooting clays.

Some really great advice in the thread - thanks all.
I shot trap for the first time on Saturday at a friend's club and really enjoyed it, I was a little anxious as I hadn't shot a shotgun in 25 years. Nailed the first one out ... then things went downhill.
Ended up doing 14/25 the first round (with one 5/5 station) then an 11/25 - my friend mentioned his Remington 1100 wasn't exactly ideally suited for trap - so I'll blame the equipment
Had fun and will definitely go again.
