Looking for tips on loading cast bullets with the .308 Win

lots of very good information has been mentioned already here.
another thing to keep in mind is how the gun preforms with jacketed bullets. if the gun's accuracy with jacketed bullets is not much tighter than 1 moa at 100 yards don't expect it to get much tighter with cast boolits.

if your looking to play with high velocity in cast bollits than have a look in the lee manual at the 308 loads for jacketed bullets , you will see a column on the far left indicated 1 grain increments on velocity .
read the chapter in the lee manual on how to extrapolate this information for cast bullets and you will start having lots of fun and see all of a sudden how many powder options open up once you figure out your BHN to match pressure and velocity accordingly.
by using this information correctly you will be on the right track to getting tight groups at higher velocities.

i was even able to get tight groups for cast 223 rem' 68 grain boolits at 100 yards 5 shot group 0.5 inch and velocities of over 2500fps

ENJOY the process and take it one step at a time.
good luck.
