Hello,

My oldest brother has asked me to try to find him some old .22 ammunition. With boxes, if possible. He names: WizzBang, Central 'V's, and Bisley. He is not sure of the spelling. But this is what I have.

why did he not know this, just trolling for a bargain ???

Hello Jefferson,

I do not know what 'EE' means. Please let me know.

My brother is 74 years old. It is a 5 hour drive to Calgary. He likes his guns, but does not go to gun shows any more. Years ago we went to a show at Red Deer. Or it might have been a Bud Haynes auction.

I am 58 and do not remember the names of the ammo he gave me. But he does.

It might seem strange to you, but that is the way it is.

I am fairly new to this forum and I do not understand how every thing works here...but I am learning.

And NO! He is not just trolling for a bargain. If I told him that, he would be insulted. I will keep that between you and me. But I will tell him that a good source for what he is looking for are the gun shows and sales around Alberta. Thank you for that suggestion.

Please...anyone... feel free to email me if you have any more ideas. All suggestions are welcome. dwiese@mcsnet.ca.

Best regards,

The "EE" is the Equipment Exchange. You have to apply for access, then post a "wanted" advert in the appropriate section (Exchange of Factory Ammo and Reloading Equipment)
http://www.canadiangunnutz.com/forum/faq.php?faq=new_faq_item#faq_cgn_exchange_rules

This is directlt from the link above, which you should (really, do it!) go and read all of, as it explains all the local rules and customs for this forum.

"Now, do the following

1. Go to your UserCP,
2. Click on Group Membership,
3. Select Join Group for Equipment Exchange Users Group and,
4. Click Send.

By doing so, you are agreed to have a clear understanding to the above rules and condition; Please Note: Failure to comply with these rules may result in temporary or permanent suspension of a member's Equipment Exchange privleges. Thank you for your co-operation."

It usually takes a few days to get approval, but once you are approved, you will have access until you do something that will cause it to be revoked. That's all explained in the rules that you are agreeing to.

There are quite a few cartridge collectors as well as ammunition box collectors out there. A few guys on the gunshow circuit are pretty well stocked and will horse trade on stuff like you are after.

My best suggestion is to make plans to attend the Calgary show, Easter Weekend (Friday and Saturday) at the Stampede Park. Huge show.

Cheers

now we know more info

trevj has some good info and maybe that should be made into a sicky for folks and then we can point them in the right direction.

you age reveals more about you and your dad than before, for that we are thankful, it is just frustrating the trolls we have lloing for bargains,

now more to the point, there are a few of us who have many boxes and even some full, I am no expert but cllect for the fun and try to buy stuff about $5 a full box and under, now it is up to $10 as I have lots of boxes,

I reeally dont care how rare something is , I like it more if the packaging has neat stuff on it, lots of color and so on, wh cares to buy ammo for $100 box when I can get 20 boxes for $5 each in different colors. or a full brick of junk but prety ammo. OK I will not get rich but it looks impressive.

go to rimfire central.com and there is a thread on there about ammo that shows lots of pics, really neat. I will try to remember which thread it is and report back.

Neat stuff but a lot of folks out there to rip you off, example ammo eley for 1988 olimpics, was the regular stuff but they sell it for more and with the eley changing to new labels the target and so on will double, one dealer already contacted me as a shooter and ofered me 50% over what I bought the ammo for so he could sell it for double, I told him I was out. (I have 5 cases left for shooters though)

later, sorry if I came across gruf, I dislike trools,

jefferson

Thanks to all for the info. I will follow up on it.

But he is my oldest brother, not my Dad. My youngest brother is still way older than I am. 11 and a half years. :).

Thanks again for the pointers.

Dan

By the way, I was going to sell a really nice R A Litschert target/sniper scope on ebay awhile back. One had just sold for $600. Mine is better. I told my brother my intention and he got grouchy at me. He said if I was going to sell it...sell it to him. So...I still have it.

Best Regards,

Dan

Senior,

Well...it's like this. Jim is 74. Max is 72. John is just about to turn 70. I'm 58 and a half. So, my youngest brother, John, is 11 and a half years older than me.

I don't know if my conception was an after thot or an accident, but I am happy to be here...talking with you.

And I just tried posting this reply with the red ink, but it seems to have disappeared into the ether. If it does show up a second time, I apologize.
