Just purchased a new 617 6" . Looking to change out the stock rubber hogue grips for some beefy wood target grips. I have large hands and would like some feedback from those who have found something that works for them. I am not a fan of round butts so a conversion to square butt is in order as well.
What works for you with an ###L mitt? Who in Canada carries them?

Cheers from Kawartha Lakes

I don't have "###L mitts", but I do have Hogue Coco Bolo grips that I prefer over the rubber stock ones. Hogue dealers in Canada can be found on the Web ( http://www.hoguedealer.com/pages/hogue-distributors.php )
I opted for a checkered grip due to mounting added weight (telescopic and red dot sights) above the barrel . . . to help counter the increase in 'nose-heaviness' with such configurations. I also use a DS-10 speed loader. The wood grips do not interfere with the loading (or open cylinder) process.

I, as well, have the big ###l hand issue. I ordered a set of grips off eBay for my model 17. ~$40 ish shipped from overseas some where, can't remember exactly. The are pretty decent for the money. Lots of neat looking wood grain patterns and colours when I bought mine. I just searches S&W K frame if I remember correctly.

Thanks for the suggestions. I was hoping to be able to handle a few grips as buying online may be "hit and miss" for the correct size. I may drop by the Norland Gun Show this weekend in hopes of finding something there that may work; if not then online it is.

Cheers !
