Looking to bear hunt.

I have never hunted bear before but would love to give it a try this year. I live in the Oshawa area and was wondering if anyone knew of any public land where I may be able to hunt bear. I don't want a huge drive but realize that I am not going to find much around here and will have to drive a bit. Hour or two would be good.
I have heard "stories" about bears in Ganeraska forest but don;t think I will have much luck with the one or two bears that may or may not exist there.

I have done some hunting over the past year. I am not an overly evperienced hunter but am fairly knowledgable with a good head on my shoulders. Why do you ask?

Your gonna have to drive further then 1-2 hours to get into bears my friend.

Bears start north of Lindsay and Fenelon falls area. Mostly private so need permision.

Some Crown land up by Norland and Kinmount and Gooderham - all good bear areas. I've hunted em with success there when I used to live in Lindsay. A bit of a drive from Oshawa.

I am ok with a bit of a drive I just want to stay away from a 4.5-5 hour drive. End up doing more driving than hunting. I would most likely be going for the day or maybe two days.
