Looking to buy a red dot for M305

Wondering what you guys are running/recommend for a red dot, I do not want to put a scope on this rifle, it will be used in the bush, not out past 100 yards basically. Im kind of leaning towards an Eotech, either a 512 or 516 model.

Just looking for opinions right now... I do want a sight the same if not very similar to an Eotech including the reticle.

Thanks for any input in advance!
 
Personally I think you will find the M14 platform will eat an Eotech. If I was looking to mount an RDS on that platform it would have to be an Aimpoint.

pay particular attention to h20 man. if the eotech would get "eaten" by the m14, i'm pretty certain he wouldn't have one.

Depending on your chosen mount, the eotech can sit a little high.
other than that, there are no issues with the eotechs.
The reticle will provide VERY quick target aquisition, esp under 100 yards.
The "screen" with the eotech is much better than the "tube" of the aimpoint IMHO.
if you can find someone nearby, try both an aimpoint and an eotech.
 
I have a Shorty with a Bushnell TRS-25 mounted on a Ultimak M8 and it will co-witness with the iron sights . It has worked fine for me with no issues at all.
 
Ill be mounting the sight on a vltor casv-14 mount in the scout position. The issue is im not sure who around the Ottawa area carries either the aimpoint or eotech sights so Illl have to do a bit of research on that part. I definately like the idea of the eotechs screen and reticle rather then the aimpoints tube just for the faster target acquisition.
