looking to get a Sig in .45ACP...

I currently have a P220 SAO in .45 ACP, great pistol, very reliable, accurate and handles recoil quite well. It also shares a good chunk of the 1911 manual at arms and I tend to think of it as a kind of "updated" 1911, so to speak. Another buddy has a P220 Combat and he loves it, but .45 auto ain't cheap to run...

As for the SIG 1911s the newer offerings seem to be doing quite well if that's your gig.

I had the P 220 45 ACP and carried it as my primary sidearm. It was reliable and accurate. I ran 600+ rounds of LE reloads thru it with no issue @ a training session.

It was 1 of 2 perfect rounds fired over a LE competition night course and the only SIG in competition.
Our agency's firearms instructer borrowed mine, ran part of the course and bought one the next day.

That agency and SWAT now is issued SIGs.(not particularly because of mine)

I had the tritium sights front and rear also.

+1 German P220, wonderful pistol! Mine is the no rails version, no bigger than the Commander in .45 and much milder recoil.
