Looking to get back into rimfire. What do I get??

I was on the same boat as you not so long ago. I have had a handful of hand me down 22s that all had one problem or another my entire life. I finally had enough and scraped up some money and bought a anschutz. It is deadly accurate and the fit and Finnish are excellent. It just works. I have heard good things about the Cz rifles but I have no experience.

That's a very good choice. I have a 452 American with Leupold 13 mm rings in medium and VX2 6-18x40 AO. The 4-12x40 AO is a good compromise if you are planning to shoot targets but also want to do some hunting.

medium will work with that scope on americans for sure, 452 varmint as well (very close fit, objective may rub when turning if it flexes, mine never did but is VERY close...like dollar bill close lol) ... but probably not 455 varmint due to the non tapered barrel.
 
You can try SK Standard Plus or SK Rifle Match when shooting targets. CCI Subsonic HPs or Winchester 222/333/555 work well in my CZs when I go hunting.

I've had good luck with CCI Quiets and Hollow point MiniMags. Also CCI subsonics, but haven't been able to find any for a couple years. I usually shoot at least six different types before dialing in my scope.

Another vote for savage mrk 2 g. Very accurate, light, has iron sights, all with outstanding customer service from lakefield, on. For a scope i use a bushnell 4-12 with a/o.
 
Sorry for above post, didn't see you made a very good choice. My CZ likes mini mags, sk+, and has shot thousands of gophers with them as well as American eagle and 555s. You need to rezerow with each new shell. In the gopher patch Rem yellow jackets fallowed by mini mags give best splat.
 
I love 22s, I'm not joking, I've got 22 of them with the desire to add to the number. CZ 455 Americans are nice rifles, mine is quite accurate, more so than I am, but I think the trigger could use some improvement but it is not like it's a terrible trigger.

Having twenty two .22's sounds like a complete collection lol, maybe it's time to acquire seventeen .17's? There are some aftermarket options for the 455 triggers, have you tried the Yo-Dave kit? You could also look into the DIP adjustable sear or Rifle Basix trigger.

My 452 shoots CCI Blazer very well, but also shoots SK Standard and CCI SV pretty good. It's also the only rifle I've ever owned that shoots Winchester 333 half-decently. (about 3/4" @ 50 yards) Not good, but fine for plinking. Mine didn't love the CCI MiniMags, but I've heard that some CZs like them.

22, 22 rifles? Nice! Divide that by about 5...and you're in .22LRGUY territory. lol My "collection" will stay at about that number (probably) unless I can find a Rossi SAC pump! :)

Leuopold 13 mm medium rings will not accommodate a VX2 4-12X40, a piece of paper will not fit under the objective when it is resting on the rings. I suppose tightening would damage the objective.

Leupold tech support had told me these rings will be good but they are not for this scopes objective and they were wrong.

So please recommend if you can which rings to order, perhaps one of our sponsors has in stock?
