Hello all, I have a stag 10, currently AWAY front sight gas block with a iron sight rear sight.
It has a retro 2 piece hand guard, I also have a 16.5 inch one from stag arms, I'm looking for ideas on an optic for the upcoming moose season, between 100 and 200 yards, any advice for a poor fellow gunny?

Burris E1 (2-7 and 3-9 versions I believe) scopes are very nice glass for the money and aren’t very heavy. Slap that on your Stag and I bet it’ll do the trick.

In that case I’d recommend a USO TS-12 in an Aero extended cantilever mount. 5F7131C7-D158-4DAA-9FCA-56FFA4ADB505.jpg

El cheapo ACOG. LOL, there is no such my friend.

A fixed 4x will be affordable and cut down on weight. Depending on what kind of hunting you plan on doing. Otherwise I’d go with one of the variables that have been suggested.

Lol.. same thoughts. I got used one for $1100 if that helps, perfect for hunting and weights half a pound so it’s makes walking in the woods that more pleasant. Ta33 Acog

True, but for 200 to 300 on fleabay, I've had one for 50 dollars and sold it, worked well but dad hated it haha, wish I had cash, I have a fake Leopold mark 4 on it with cheap scope rings, I paid 175 for the scope on the e e years ago and no scope rings I bought six with the liner so it would shrink it down in size 34 to 30 mm, fits the scope well but the rings are a bit sloppy on the rifle looking for an alternative that's in my price range was pretty much under a hundred bucks

I've seen them and I've shot a 457 CheyTac can't remember the boat but it kicks like a mule believe me and I loved it it was a Bushnell Elite forged or elite Black something along those lines

I’m In the process of building a Stag 10 for moose also. Just picked up a Bushnell incinerate from Rangeview sports $199 free ship, no tax. If I can get the rebate it’ll cost me like $140. Looks a bit like an acog. However when I do get another licence I’ll likely mount a 3-9 generic hunting scope. I don’t want to me caught trying to put a moose down at a couple hundred yards out of a red dot.

Another vote for Bushnell LRHS. I have several and they really are excellent scopes for the money. The Bushnell rebate is really hard to pass over. I’m at 4 or 5 scopes now thanks to these spring sails.

Thanks all, I'll have to look at Burris glass, and sadly I do not have the carry handle, I want one tho, I have what's on the link, so I have space haha, I was looking at a el cheapo acog just can't find any in Canada

Don't waste your money on "el cheapo " anything, especially not optics! There's nothing like spending a solid $1000 on a moose hunt and then missing your moose cause your el cheapo tasco , NC star or wal mart bushnell lost zero on the bumpy drive in and is now shooting 4 feet left!

Go with a Burris ar536 scope. Comes with a fixed magnification. Will cover short-med distances

Had a burris ar332 and an Burris E1 3-9×40 is 2 times clearer and brighter! The only downside is that at the low power the E1 has better clarity and low light capability is lighter and the ability to go to 9x..... oh wait there is no downside...
