The matte varnish is getting some wear and tear on my savage mkII G and I get the feel of repainting it... I heard krylon was good? Where can I get it? Whats the process of painting the stock?

Also, for the winter i'm shooting indoors and i just bought a bushnell elite 4200 4-16x50 (to be mounted on somethign else) and I'd like to sit it, for the winter, on the savage but i currently have a bushnell (whatsoever line) 3-9x30 that came along with the gun (i suppose under 50$ value) with rings that attach to the barrel without a mount.
My question now is wether I could find similar rings for a 50mm objective or not?

Any other idea to pimp my savage will be considered (I know it's not a 10/22, but there must be somethign fun to do with it). I thought of changing the bolt, then I remembered i was lefty :kickInTheNuts: so won't be getting any coolio parts

Yes, you can get rings to mount that 50mm objective scope on your Savage.
If you are out west, give P & D a call, they have "BSquare" high rings with .22sized groves for $25.00 or so!

How about a target stock? I'm thinking about doing this, in a different colour scheme, to my 93R17GLV sometime in the near future.

If you're looking for dovetail rings for your scope, D&L Airguns in Langley, BC has a good website with lots of rings available. They're also very nice to deal with and their prices are reasonable.

Dont do it!

Sand it down and put 4 coats of Double boiled linseed oil on it and God will smile down upon you.

Krylon is for plastic. Wood deserves better.

sounds fun, no funds

finally i will change the stock, i found rifle-stocks dot com to be a very good stock supplier, say they ship to canada without a problem, has anyone bought from them?

I have read on another forum some guys are getting into modifying 10/22 bull barrels and adding them to their Savages. Personally, I think buying a heavy barrelled Savage from the get-go would have been a better idea as the accuracy from them is excellent. As far as custom parts, about all I have seen is mounts and stocks. They are getting really popular though, maybe someone will step up and start making items for them.

i agree getting the bull barrel savage gun at first would've been awesome but im lefty so i would've had to change the receiver to left handed
