Hi Gang,
I am looking to try a barrel turner on center fire rifle.
The US does not seem to be able to sell this product into Canada, and I have not seen a Canadian manufacturer or distributor. Does anyone know where these can be purchased?

Try this simple test - 2 hose clamps and wheel weights to total mass is 3, 4, 5 and 6 oz.

STrap them to the barrel at the same place and shoot your best ammo. At 300m, did it change much? Did the groups get much bigger? Which weight had the most positive change?

Of that weight, move it 1/4" and 1/2" and see how it changed.

This is big adjustments to see if your barrel will respond positively to the mass of a tuner.

for my primary barrel, it either didn't have a significant affect or caused groups to get much bigger.... I don't have a tuner.

Another team mate has been struggling with a barrel but got a very pleasant surprise when he strapped on a magnetospeed bayonet. Groups at 300 cut in half.... just like that. He is going to pursue a tuner or at least an equal mass.

A tuner is nothing more then a pretty hunk of weight so test to see if this mass is going to help or hurt. And since you know how heavy you need to install, these are the tuners you are going to install.

YMMV.

I've seen them at big box stores like cabelas, wholesalesports, and even some Canadian Tires I think. Assuming we're talking about the same thing.

I don't think so... no center fire tuners in any of those stores I am sure...

here is what they may look like

They are more than just a weight, they are a weight that is adjustable in length on the barrel.

US dealers will sell to Canada but through an intermediary who does the importing. A couple of the dealers in the CGN masthead will oblige.
Also out of OZ there is Loweyproducts.ccoomm

guntech is 100% on that - those retailers mentioned won't know what you're asking for and will likely refer you to a music shop.Laugh2

Thanks guys great leads.
Barrel tuners are I fact just barrel weights. That they are micro adjustable, may give you the ability to adjust you harmonic node.
I have never used one, but am interested in trying one. Might be a complete waist of money and time or it might not. This is of course part of the game in seeking precision. They are availably through Lowrey, but not the other recommendations. I have found a possible source- will see what happens. If it works will post a thread on my trials and outcomes.
