I looked and I liked them a lot. I can't wait for a range report. Why? I have a custom 9mm and it doesn't look as nice and it has teething problems. Mine shoots very tight groups but:
1. it jams on the last one or two rounds​
2. its slide doesn't always stay open after the last round is fired.​

BKP99, my next question is how much did these two pistols cost you, Mine cost me $1,000 but the original owner had well over $1,600 plus the gun in it before he gave up. Again, thanks and regards, Richard:D
 
I won't discuss price as it's considered polite to ask the gunsmith directly. Besides I ordered a while ago when our dollar was quite weak so it wouldn't cost as much right now.

Some specs:

Caspian frame and slide...all stainless. Officer frame, Commander Slide
Barsto ramped barrel 9mm
Heinie (novak cut) black rear with gold bead front sights
Single Wilson safety on one, extended Mueschke ambi safety on number 2
Wilson Trigger, Wilson beaver tail.
Chip McCormick Grips, hexhead screw, tactical extended mag release button
Stippled front strap and mainspring housing
Metalform, Springfield front ramp 9mm officer's magazines...stainless.
Don's standard reliability package, accurizing/barrel crown, dehorn, bevel magwell.
Standard recoil spring plug and rod...I hate full length guide rods.

Each gun comes with 5 magazines, extra barrel, bushings and sundry other spare parts to keep them running forever.

These guns are concealable and all steel for durability...with the 9mm... that's almost forever. I went all stainless so I don't have to worry with refinishing. I went gold bead so I don't have to worry about replacing tritiums. Stippling is less abrasive than checkering and gives an 'Old School' look...like Custom BHP's. I hate FLGR's and rails and front slide serrations. Except for Caliber, it's the kind of specs Jeff Cooper would have advised.

9mm...Cheap to shoot and we have +P+ JHP's anyway in many stores. Colonel Cooper would not approve!!!!!!!

Extra barrel, spare parts and lots of mags...if our gun laws get worse and we can't get stuff...I got enough to keep them running for the rest of my life...likely enough to pass on to kids since barrels last long time and each gun has one extra!!! Plus I don't need to ship the gun for replacement of key parts...since I can detail strip it.

I like P7M8's better for concealment but 1911's are a gun I know how to detail strip easily....

Don William's guns have a Classic Old school look to them. John Harrison is a great smith too but his have a more modern futuristic look...Golf ball stippling (STI's have this now), machines grooves in the slide, and removes metal from slide to create stepped slide ...like BHP.

My own custom specs were influenced by articles from gun magazines in the late 80's and the 90's. This was the style of Novak, and men like Don Williams...hence Don was the man.

:cool: Beautiful pistol. :confused: Richard, any chance of the troubles being mag related?
 
The front strap and MSH are Stippled. Lots of places do this, Novak's calls it 'Matting', Ted Yost calls his " sharkskin ", most other people just call it stippling. You basically use a punch to texture the metal. Done properly it gives a rough but not pointy surface that is easier on the hand than checkering. It's also cheaper and in my opinion looks better. Most custom Hipower's are stippled due to thinness of metal on the front strap.
