Should A2 handguards be able to twist side to side a few degrees? Specifically on an SA20. They don't rattle or go backwards and forward. You can just twist them a few degrees quite easily.

I was going to put a Cadex rail for a foregrip or maybe a Harris bipod on the handguards but I'm not sure if I want to with the play in them.

Checked Google for more info but it seems no one is using 20" rifles or A2 handguards!

Not on a colt gun they are very very very tight.
They should be almost a 2 person job to take off.
Not the same issue with other brands

Hmmm. Well this is a Colt rifle. They are almost as loose as my SP1's A1 handguards.

Could the delta ring not be seated all the way forward or something? I did not install the handguards myself. They are the green ones and it has a triad mount if that makes a difference.

I had to do some light fitting when I installed a set of handguards on my LMT M4 upper. There were uneven high points on the handguard that would prevent the delta ring from seating evenly. Unless the handguards you got are undersized and loose.

Are these the handguards that came with your SA20 or you bought them used?

I have the same rifle and added the exact same rail (and then the cadex verticle grip) to it. Mine don't move at all.

Are they on correctly? I don't mean to say you did anything wrong, but could they have come from the factory misinstalled? Or, did you R&R them and not seat them properly?

I bought the entire rifle used and this is how it was. I don't know if the handguards were factory installed or not. It has probably less than a half inch of play.

I will try taking them off and reinstalling them but I don't really know how they could be on wrong.

Thanks everyone for the advice.

Oh one other question I could probably figure out myself but I might as well ask. Does the trident need to come off to remove the handguards?
