Hi All:
I ordered a new forend for my winchester defender, after spending some time on the phone with CGN sponsor making sure it would fit. I guess these shotguns are hard to part out these days.
Well I just replaced the forend and it seems to be 1/8" short. It's loose and rattle around quite a bit.
Not wanting to go through the hassle of a return/exchange, I thought I would ask the pro's here if it is acceptable to put on a spacer ring between the forend and the screwcap to tighen up the new forend rather than reinstalling the old one.
Side note: I noticed the screw cap has a hard plastic ring set inside the cap that is preventing it from screwing all the way down. I'm sure it would tighten up if I pulled this ring out from inside the screwcap, but I am hesitant to do so.
Can anyone offer some direction?
Thanks all.
