loose front sight

Why is it loose? Has the sight itself been altered? Has the dovetail been altered? Did this just happen? Has it been that way for a while? Did you just get the gun?

Some details and history would help.
 
Yup, just got it. I knew it was loose, but it was a deal, so I figured I would buy and fix. There must be a solution?! The dovetail and everything looks as it should, just worn. What is standard procedure for tightening up an old, loose sight?
