I have a Bushnell scopechief 1.5-4.5 that the turret has became loose where it attaches to the tube, has anyone had this problem and what if anything can be done to repair it. I have been considering using a thin feeler gauge coated with epoxy to slide between tube and turret, there may be another way to attack this not sure but there must be a way to remove the turret from the tube?

I called Bushnell and talked to a helpful guy, repair is possible if they have parts, as far as warranty and replacement according to the serial # it was manufactured in 1982 well beyond their lifetime (30yr) warranty. I am pretty sure it was a 25yr warranty when I bought it in 82.
So I called trace scope repair explained the issue with the scopechief, repair is probably just a matter of disassembly and tighten the turret housing screws. After talking a bit turns out they repair old weaver scopes also. So my scopechief vi and weaver steel 4x are going for a rejuvenating make over.

I love the older Scope Chief optics but the reality is the realistic value of your scope is likely under $100. I think your first idea was a good option so if you can attach the turret with epoxy...go for it...what have you got to lose. If the scope works then keep using it. Likely the seal in the main body has been compromised so you may get fogging in certain conditions. Good luck. Phil.
