Hey Everyone,

I broke my decapping pin on the weekend. No problem says I - a quick trip down to Cabela's to pick up a replacement pin and a one-minute refurb and I will be back in business. Not so...I cannot get the damn thing off. It feels like it's welded on. Has anyone encountered the same problem, and if so, how did you manage to get it off (if you did...). Thanks

Clamp the die body by the flats in a vice. Use the box end of a correct sized wrench or a good quality socket on a breaker bar to loosen the collet. Don't do it on the press.

Don't put it back together that tight, but you'l want it good and tiiight.

Might be worth while having several of those decapping pins handy, as the are different size than the pin in the size/decap die. They're only a few bucks :)

I just replicated the issue for you,
Put the pinch nut,14 mm or 9/16 in the vise, body inverted, straight up,tighten the vise as much as you can,put an open ended wrench on the flat of the die body and turn counter clockwise, you'll have to reef on it,it's very tight but it will come loose, good luck.

Got it...Where's my Dad's tool shop when I need it? Actually, I know someone a couple of minutes away that can probably help me out...

Thanks!
