I am trying to shoot my 10/22 in production for ORPS to see how my shooting changes going from my bolt CZ 455 to a 10/22.

Problem is once I put my scope on it I can get proper eye relief in standing / kneeling position but prone I need to push the rifle of my shoulder to see through the scope. I have made myself a 2 inch add on to the stock but it’s not looking great.

I want to stay production since its a pencil barrel, I could place it in my magpull hunter but a stock change means now I’m shooting open and my pencil barrel is no match for Bergera, dlask ruger PRR etc.

Any quick fix out there.

What stock are you currently using ?

If it's a factory birch, I'd glue and screw the spacer block to it . Sand, grind to fit . Give the entire stock a quick sand so new paint will adhere. Spray paint in your favorite colour.

Clear coat and allow the finish to cure.

Or if your in a hurry paint matte black and touch up as required.

It the generic one with the big round indent in it

You could also add a flip flop pad to the block giving even more lop adding a non slip surface
Cut the butt of the stock flat and square.
Rough out your space block glue and screw to butt
Sand to fit
Sand and paint
Go to the dollar store buy a pair of flip flops glue a piece to the spacer block trim to fit with a razor knife.
I'd also trim the front of the stock eliminatlng the barrel band

How much longer do you need? I seem to recall someone making a longer buttpad that installs directly on a 1022 carbine. Looked like sin, but if you only needed a bit more. Can you get a different scope rail and more the scope forward any?

I dont want to invest too much, this is only for one shoot (ORPS) normally im in open division with my CZ but I want to give a semi a try so I pulled off my 10/22 from its mappul hunter stock and returned it to its original stock. the rail on is teh factory one and teh front ring is as far as it will go and the scope turret is touching it. I McGuivered an extension to the butt stock, its not pretty but will work for one shoot

After a great deal of scientific study, I found that flip flops from Dollar Tree are the best candidates. Probably their stock changes, so take this with a grain of scientific salt. ;)

Maybe move the scope a tad further?
These rings are a very tight fit for my el cheapo Simmons ProTarget 3-9x40:

To add to what 5.45 posted, Weaver even makes a double ring extension versus having just the one extended ring. I have them mounted on a scope to bring it closer but it would do the opposite.
