Lost cause?

I inherited a Stevens 38B a few years ago, missing the bolt assembly(long story ). I've been searching for a replacement ever since with no luck. Have tried every parts shop/message board on the web as well as every gunshop I've passed . Barring the miracle that I might actually find one, is this a lost cause? What would be the cost to have one made?

I say lost cause if you cannot find a used one....having one manufactured would far outway the actual value of the gun in question.....

Since savage now owns Stevens give them a call and see if they might know who to contact to get a replacement
