Hey there guys, I am just full of questions recently.

So, has anyone had any experience with Lothar Walther barrel blanks? I'm looking for a long (and I DO mean long!) .303 barrel blank with a 4 groove right hand 1-10 bore, made of chrome moly, and Walther seems to be the only game in town. Anyone know of any other sources?

Secondly, the project that I'm thinking about is going to require a new stock set to go with the barrel, and it's going to have to be black American walnut. Does anyone know where I could source a full-stock blank for a barrel this size? Thanks!

Can't go wrong with a Lothar Walther blank. What profile and diameter? Forend would be custom and set you back a few $'s. Might consider a shorted target forend like on the Parker Hale T4's or Jim Duggan conversions. Ron

Why so specific on the 4-groove? Ron Smith in Wimborne AB will make you a damn nice gain twist barrel, and likely for much less than what a Lothar Walther will cost you. Heck for a little extra, Ron would probably make a 4 Groove dividing plate to make your barrel. And how long is long?

I need a finish length of 30.5". As for the specifics on grooves, I'd like the 4 groove for... Accuracy of sorts. Pardon the secrecy, the project is a potentially commercial endeavour that I'd like to keep wraps on for the time being. Does Mr. Smith have a website or e-mail that I could contact him at?

No digital presence, however he can be reached at 1 (403) 631-2405. ~300 for an unturned blank, ~400 for a profiled/contoured one, maximum 32", 416R SS or 4150 CrMo.
