Looking to spend $500 to $600. Looking for a scope included. I've been looking at the Savage 111 stainless. Any opinions or other suggestions?

Really depends on what and where you'd be shooting. But coming from the handgun world, a .44 RM carbine might be a good idea. If lighting off a KSRH7/9 is a piece of cake for you, then adding several inches of barrel and a stock for higher velocity and better control might be interesting. Plus, you might have all the dies, equip etc for hand loading and have a good understanding of the ballistics (at least at the low end :) ).

Could be used as a light, quick, short-range deer rifle out to 150 yards where most shooting takes place anyway.
