I was out for the first time this year looking for coyotes and noticed that there were a lot of rabbits. In total, I saw five really large jackrabbits - I shot two of them and probably pulled about 20lbs of meat off the two - a bit of exaggeration there as I didn't weigh them but they were pretty darn big. I wished I took some pics but totally forgot about my camera. It was a pretty good day in three hours - my hunting buddy and I saw 3 cow moose, 2 coyotes, 12 does, and 5 jack rabbits. Next to the cow moose the rabbits were the big deal for the day. We also saw a husky dog which we thought was a wolf from a distance. Back to the rabbits, there are also about 5 rabbits that live by my house (I see them all the time when I walk my dog) and my HB has two in his area as well. Looks to be a good hunting year coming up...
