Heading up north tomorrow to deer hunt, rain in forecast for the hunt next four days. i have this time only to hunt because of work.
I figure the best plan is to walk through the woods and hope to find bedded down deer. My guess is they will not move around a lot and just stay put.

This is around Bancroft Ontario in a wooded area. Your two cents. Open to suggestions .

Woods will be quiet and deer will carry on regardless. Sneak around and through the thick stuff,

Wish I could go but none of my stars are aligning at the moment.

Patrick

Deer will move in wet weather . Only a heavy storm will put them down , especially heavy wind . Then your idea of walking
will work . The wind noise will cover your noise . If a heavy snow storm then go to the heaviest cover ,,,,,,, that is where they will be .
Got a good 8 pt. in Parry Sound this way . Wet snow is also a good time to stalk those fresh tracks , right to their bed . Done that two
several times .

I used to hunt the Vennachar area (just south of Denbigh off of HWY41). Deer are scarce there right now. In fact, the guys at my old camp haven't scored in a few years.
I usually did better than they did, but that was mainly because I spent more time in the woods. I told them over and over, you can't shoot deer sitting inside the cabin. (I did shoot one I spotted out the window once though).
Rain or shine, get outdoors. you see less deer in the rain because there are fewer hunters moving deer around, not because the deer are not doing their thing, they still have to eat, and bucks are still in rut.
I like to walk silently and slowly on rainy days, checking the feeding and bedding areas, and parking myself now and then along runways used by game. You can usually have your choice of the best spots, because others are parked inside playing cards, reading, and drinking.

Seeing the forecast calls for rain, stop at the beer store, buy extra cases, then liquor store for another bottle of single malt, head to camp and dont come out until the rain stops!
Actually i love hunting whitetail in the rain. Its quiet still hunting. I have snuck up on many over the years. Keep eyes scanning the area ahead and limit your movement as you move along. Be ready as you will jump a few. No oak nuts this year so they been eating lots in the local fields up past Bancroft. Were a few trees that had apples. Most are gone now. Try calling as you stalk. Have a great hunt, be seen, be safe and enjoy what the day offers

It has rained here for 2 days solid. Must be up to 4 inches of rain so far. Big clouds still above. Don't cross any streams that you have to come back across. It might be twice as deep. I can hear the Horsefly river just a pounding due to the rain we have had.
Deer are still wandering around and bedding in the nasty stuff under big trees. Good raingear is essential. And a well waxed gun so it doesn't rust.

Thanks for all the tips gents.
Packing the car now and heading up. I've found the solution I will take my M94 and my buddy will use the shot gun and we will walk together.
so all ranges are covered

Heading up near Britt for the opener. Lots of rain forecast up there too. As others said, deer will do their thing in the rain. Good luck to you.

I’ve always had luck deer hunting in the rain, last year both my whitetails were shot on rain days. They will be moving around in it, you can count on that. It’s the perfect time to walk quietly in the woods, the rain will cover the noise you make to some extent. Deer have good hearing and if there’s more ambient noise with the rain I’ll take that advantage anytime I can get it to try and sneak in unnoticed.

Good rain gear is a must though, nothing worse than being soaked in the rain in the fall.
