I finally found a GP100 with 4.2" barrel. I was hoping to find one in stainless, but I have to say, I'm really digging the blued version. Couldn't be happier with the fit and finish.

:rockOn:That looks like one of the w-296 loads I use to shoot out of my 4" Ruger Security Six. In case you like the flash, Power Pistol is pretty spectacular too...

I DO like the flash!
I'm using H110, which (i've read) is the same stuff as w296. I'll check out power pistol for my next loads.

I have had one on order for quite a few months now, like so many that I can't count  I can't wait to get one and love the fireball!

Great handgun, waiting for a stainless GP 4.2", all Dealers out of stock for many months, years. Maybe one day? I just can't give 20% $ for a back order gun that might come in. When they begin showing up, I'll get one.

who needs a rail with a flashlight or night sights, your first shot is the flashlight, haha!

H110 sits beside W296 on Hodgdon's burn rate chart. Power Pistol is a faster powder. I bought it for my 10mm (now gone) and 147 gr bullets in my 9mm's. 125gr 357 mags and Power Pistol makes a pretty health flash, nothing like H110/W296, but still pretty cool.

I installed a brownells spring kit to lighten the trigger. Feels great now. Although, I've only ever had one other revolver to compare it to, and it was also a Ruger (blackhawk).

How easy is it to install the spring kit? I'm researching my next pistol and I really like the look of the GP100. How's the accuracy?

The kit came with easy to follow instructions. Basically just remove the grip and the mainspring is right there. Then remove the trigger guard assembly to access the trigger spring. There are some good youtube videos on this, plus if you google realguns + brownells spring kit + ruger gp100 they have a good set of instructions there too (I prefer this type of instructions over watching a video).

I find it to be very accurate in single action. Double action is going to take me some practice!

Also, there's nobody next to me taking the pic. That's my gopro on a magnet mount.
